Research activities
My research interests are focused on the fundamental and practical aspects of the synthesis of organic-inorganic colloidal nano-objects with special emphasis on synthesis, shape control, surface functionalization of inorganic nanoparticles & sol-gel chemistry as illustrated below. My research also includes, at the interface between chemistry & biology, their use in biomedical applications, focusing on the synthesis of multimodal nanoparticles for imaging and therapy purposes with some insight in toxicity approaches.
Methods : hybrid materials and nanoparticle synthesis (sol-gel, (microwave assisted) hydrothermal), characterization techniques (zetametry, UV-vis, NMR, XPS, TEM, HRTEM)
Knowledge : coordination chemistry, size and morphology control, sol-gel chemistry, biomedical applications, contrast agent for imaging, toxicity, nanoscience.
