Research activities
I am involved in three research projects :
1) Design of nanoparticles for biomedical applications (in collaboration with Stéphane Mornet) : maghemite nanoparticles encapsulated in dextran corona and biofunctionalized as contrast agents for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) ; manganite perovskite nanoparticles of controlled Curie temperature for self-regulating hyperthermia under ac magnetic fields ; heat-triggered drug release from magnetic nanoparticles or gold nanorods embedded in thermosensitive macromolecules and excited under ac magnetic fields or near infra-red irradiation, respectively ;
2) Design of nanoresonators for metamaterials efficient in the visible range (in collaboration with Mona Tréguer-Delapierre) : they are obtained by assembly of metal and dielectric nanoparticles (raspberry-like morphology) ;
3) Design of nanoparticles supposed to mimic simple molecules (colloidal molecules) and self-assembly in collaboration with Serge Ravaine (CRPP, Bordeaux) : multipod-like clusters made of a silica core and a controlled number of satellite polystyrene nodules and obtained through a seeded-growth emulsion polymerization of styrene ; dimpled particles ; patchy particles.
